Turning this on asks your browser for permission once.

Paste that anywhere HTML is allowed. Free to use, no attribution required.

The countdown is anchored to a finish time, so it stays exact even if the tab is in the background. Press Test sound once so the browser lets audio play. Space starts and pauses, L takes a lap, R resets.

A free online timer, stopwatch and countdown clock that runs entirely in your browser. No account, nothing to install.

It keeps working offline once loaded, and you can add it to your home screen like an app. Your settings stay in your own browser.

Press Voice control and allow microphone access, then speak normally. Your speech is handled by your browser's own speech service, and nothing is stored by this page. Allow the microphone once and switch this on once, and it stays on as you move around the whole site, in this tab or a new one. It switches itself off after an hour of not being used. The button always shows whether it is listening, and tapping it stops it for good.

  • "set a timer for ten minutes" starts a ten minute countdown
  • "five minutes thirty seconds" any duration, in hours, minutes or seconds
  • "half an hour" and "a minute and a half" are understood too
  • "start" or "resume" starts or continues the current timer
  • "pause" holds it where it is
  • "reset" clears it back to the set time
  • "stop" silences the alarm when it is ringing
  • "snooze" gives you five more minutes
  • "stopwatch" switches to the stopwatch, "lap" records a lap
  • "intervals" switches to the interval timer
  • "add five minutes" creates an extra timer alongside the first. It only stacks a timer when you say add, another or extra, so "ten second timer" sets the main one
  • "clear all timers" removes any extra timers you stacked up
  • "full screen" makes the display fill the screen
  • EnterStart, from the duration box
  • SpaceStart or pause
  • LRecord a lap in stopwatch mode
  • RReset
  • EscSilence the alarm, or leave full screen

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. The countdown is anchored to a finish time rather than counted tick by tick, so it stays exact even when the tab is in the background or your computer sleeps briefly.

Will it remember my settings next time?

Yes. Your alarm sound, volume, label and recent timers are saved in your own browser. If you accidentally refresh while a timer is running, it picks up again from where it should be. Nothing is sent to a server.

How do I use voice commands?

Press the Voice control button and allow microphone access, then say something like 'set a timer for ten minutes', 'pause', 'reset', or 'stop' to silence the alarm. Voice control is English only and works in Chrome, Edge and Safari.

Why is there no sound when the timer ends?

Browsers block audio until you interact with the page. Press Test sound once and the alarm will play normally from then on. You can also switch the alarm to Silent, which flashes the screen instead.

Will the alarm still sound if my phone is locked?

Not reliably. Phone browsers pause background pages to save battery, so the sound can arrive late or not at all once the screen is off. The countdown itself stays accurate, and the alarm fires the moment you return to the page. For anything you must not miss, use your phone's built in clock alarm as well.

Can I run more than one timer at the same time?

Yes. Set a duration and press Add another timer. Each extra timer runs independently and can be paused, restarted or removed on its own.

Can I share a timer with someone?

Yes. Open the sharing panel and press Copy link. The link carries the duration, the label and your alarm choice, and can be set to start counting down the moment it is opened.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once the page has loaded, the timer runs entirely in your browser with no internet connection required. You can also add it to your home screen and open it like an app.

Can I put this timer on my own website?

Yes, and it is free with no attribution required. Open the sharing panel, set the duration you want, and press Copy embed code. Paste the snippet anywhere HTML is allowed, including Google Sites, WordPress, Notion and most learning platforms.

Does voice control stay on between pages?

Yes. Allow the microphone once and switch voice control on once, and it stays on across every page of the site, including pages opened in a new tab. It switches itself off after an hour of not being used, and the button always shows whether it is listening, so one tap stops it.

Can it run interval sequences?

Yes. Switch to Intervals and set a work time, a rest time and a number of rounds. It runs the whole sequence and plays a different cue for work and for rest, so you can tell them apart without looking.

How do I type a duration?

Type it the way you would say it. 25m, 1h30, 90s, 5:30 and until 3pm all work, and pressing Enter starts the timer straight away.

Is there a dark mode?

Yes. The page follows whatever your device is set to, so it turns dark automatically at night if your phone or computer is in dark mode.
